This birthday feels different. 🎂✨
Lately I’ve been sitting with a quiet question:
What does home actually feel like?
For a long time I thought home was a place.
A city.
A house.
A future I was trying to build.
But the older I get, the more I realise that home is a feeling.
And the body always knows.
When I’m around emotionally safe people, something in me softens.
My breath deepens.
My shoulders drop.
My heart opens.
I laugh more.
I feel lighter.
More myself.
There’s no need to perform, explain, or shrink parts of who I am.
Just presence.
Ease.
Belonging.
And I’m also learning to recognise the opposite;
those moments when my chest tightens, my breath becomes shallow, and I feel the quiet urge to make myself smaller just to keep the peace.
For years I mistook intensity for connection and discomfort for something I needed to tolerate.
But this year feels different.
This year I’m choosing to listen to the quiet wisdom of my body.
Choosing relationships that feel like home.
Choosing spaces where I can exist fully.
Choosing to trust what my body has always known.
And somewhere along the way, something beautiful has started to unfold;
I’m falling in love with my life,
with the world around me,
and with the person I’m becoming.
Grateful for another year of growth, beautiful friendships, colour, laughter, music and the quiet moments that remind me life is meant to be felt deeply.
Here’s to building a life that truly feels like home. 🌸
